Porto Montenegro recently celebrated the opening of its marina extension, which has incorporated a further 150 berths into its offering, following customer demand.

The marina now offers a total of 400 berths with capacity for 100 superyachts up to 180m.

Marina director, Porto Montenegro, Tony Browne commented on the news: "This new berth mix will appeal to all ends of the market but especially for super and mega-yachts, which will soon be supported by a nearby state-of-the-art maintenance and refit facility. We are also particularly excited to now offer a rare 180m berth."

Director of design and construction, Adriatic Marinas, Tony Scholes added: "The completion of these works is another significant step forward for Porto Montenegro, firmly placing it as the leading mega yacht marina in the Mediterranean. In turn, expansion of the marina will induce growth across the whole site, attracting further businesses to and generating more employment in the area."

With its official grand opening ceremony scheduled for August 27, Hotel Regent Porto Montenegro recently welcomed its first guests, one of them being Hollywood icon, Dita Von Teese – known as the 'Queen of Burlesque'.

Von Teese visited the hotel to attend the auction of a portrait of her by Milena Zevu, a renowned multimedia artist hailing from Belgrade. Organised by event agency, The Duke, New York, the 'Royal Cocktail' auction took place in The Library Bar of Regent Porto Montenegro in early August.

The portrait, made from over 13,000 Swarovski crystals, was successfully sold, with a third of the proceeds donated to Foundation Petrovic – Njegos – a Montenegrin charity which aids in the promotion and preservation of the country's identity, culture and tradition.

During the auction, Von Teese enthused: "I am thrilled to be here, and that the auction has generated funds and awareness for this worthy cause."

Moreover, Regent Porto Montenegro boasts what is being hailed as the largest selection of fine champagnes in the Balkan region, in addition to an extensive menu of the world's finest cognacs and whiskies.

The Porto Montenegro App offers everything that the Porto Montenegro website features, but offline. The app also includes practical arrival information for visiting yachts, event announcements, news, videos and photography.

Adding to this, it offers a private area exclusively for Owners Club members, with info on forthcoming club events, owner benefits, newsletters and more, as well as the weather forecast. The app is available in English, Montenegrin and Russian.

The Visit Montenegro App reveals all that Montenegro has to offer the sophisticated traveller. It features a guide to various towns and cities, with recommendations on what to do; listings and contact details for four- and five-star accommodation; an insider's guide to local, international and speciality restaurants; an annual calendar of events; shopping, sports, wellness and nightlife attractions; and direct links to a selection of hand-picked travel and tour agencies.

Groups can brush up on their sailing skills on a tailor-made programme designed to match their abilities. Activities either follow a classic regatta format or focus on beginner-friendly sailing, making use of the PMYC's fleet of Blu26 and Tofinou 9.5 boats.

The Regatta Experience is designed to support more experienced sailors towards improving their competition and regatta performance by honing race skills in on a high performance yacht whilst the Boka Bay Sailing Experience is ideal for beginners, providing a leisurely introduction to sailing.

Both experiences are ideal for corporate groups, where management skills can be perfected during team building exercises and the day can be customised to each group's level of experience.

Each includes a full day's activity programme, breakfast, lunch, snacks and water, as well as digital photography of the participants in action.

Air France and Montenegro Airlines recently signed a codeshare agreement, which will allow Air France to present its code and flight numbers on services operated by Montenegro Airlines between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Podgorica – the capital and largest city of Montenegro.

Air France now provides its connecting customers with six weekly flights between Paris and Montenegro. Adding to this, flights to Paris-Charles de Gaulle will offer connections on Air France's global network.

Regent Porto Montenegro, the newest member of the Regent Hotels & Resorts family, is set to welcome guests on the coast of the Adriatic Sea this summer.

The details of the luxury hotel and residences complex were recently unveiled. Regent Porto Montenegro features 51 double rooms and 35 one- to three-bedroom residences, an array of dining facilities and three restaurants.

General manager, Regent Porto Montenegro, Michael Posch said: "The opening of Regent Porto Montenegro and its introduction of residences into a hotel concept is undoubtedly exciting, especially in an area where tourism has just begun to pick up. We are confident that our magnificent accommodations and bespoke Regent services, along with the sheer beauty of this region, will make a tremendous impact in the area."

Regent Porto Montenegro is the first Regent property to encompass not only hotel rooms but luxury residences featuring up to three bedrooms and full-sized kitchens. All accommodation is designed to bring about the feeling of being on a luxury ship – a tribute to the hotel's location in the heart of the luxury Porto Montenegro yacht marina. All rooms feature a flat screen TV and complimentary WiFi too.

Bathrooms are spacious and feature a deep soaking bathtub, walk in shower and separate toilet.

The majority of the property's accommodation offers unique views of the sea and marina whilst others overlook the surrounding mountains.

The Regent Residence, considered the ultimate in luxury living, is offering up to 402m2 of indoor space and 200m2 of multiple terrace space, incorporating three bedrooms all with king-sized beds, a full kitchen, spacious dining and living rooms, a study, four bathrooms and unrivalled panoramic views of the Bay of Kotor, even from the residence's own private outdoor Jacuzzi.

Guests choosing to dine on site will be able to select from a number of outlets such as the all-day dining restaurant, the Library Bar, Gourmet Corner, Regent Lounge as well as the seafront Italian garden.

For functions and venues, Regent Porto Montenegro features the Ballroom Teodo with its pool deck, Salon Boka, two foyers and the Regent Lounge which can accommodate up to 200 guests.

Spa enthusiasts can enjoy the Signature Regent Spa which includes four individual treatment rooms, relaxation rooms, experience shower, sauna, steam room and hammam, lockers, gym, indoor pool and vitality pool with air jet bench and juice bar.

The 20m infinity-edge outdoor pool is located on the first floor and has two outdoor showers.

On the same floor, the indoor pool features a whirlpool with views of the marina and is directly connected to the Regent Spa for extra privacy and convenience. In the summer, the indoor pool links to the outdoor pool.

The hotel also includes a secluded beach which is for use of Regent Porto Montenegro guests and solely accessible by boat.

Investment firm Abu Dhabi Capital Management (ADCM) has announced that it has signed an agreement to invest in building a business hotel in Montenegro.

The hotel is set to form part of the Atlas Capital Center, one of the region's largest and most refined mixed-use development projects, located in the central business district of Podgorica, the capital city of Montenegro.

The six-story hotel is expected to be completed by the end of 2015. In addition to the hotel, the Atlas Capital Center is already home to luxurious apartments, offices, embassies and retail.

CEO, ADCM, Jassim Alseddiqi said: "ADCM has an exceptional track record of sourcing specialist investment opportunities that deliver high quality returns, and this opportunity continues this momentum. Once completed in 2015, the hotel in Atlas Capital Center will be the largest in Podgorica and will be operated by an international operator."

Throughout the four-day event, visitors to the show can enjoy entertainment, networking and evening events. Adding to this, product presentations, lectures and live open-air DJ sets have been added to the programme.

The event's diverse product showcase and programme, coupled with the port's facilities and amenities, have been attracting quality trade visitors, buyers and media for three-years running. This year's event is expected to attract more visitors than ever.

Montenegro recently hosted a group of Turkish tour operators, hailing from Izmir, Ankara, Gaziantep and Istanbul, in a bid to strengthen bonds between the two countries.

During their visit, organised by the National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro, the agents visited Cetinje as well as several hotels in Budva, Porto Montenegro in Tivat and Perast, Kotor.

Also on the agenda were visits to Podgorica, Kolasim and Bar, as well as national parks, Biogradska Gora and Skadar Lake.

In addition, a workshop was organised, allowing for Montenegrin agencies to establish cooperation with the Turkish tour operators.
